On The Art Of Folk Wood Engraving New-year Paintings In Southern Of Shanxi

Folk wood engraving new-year paintings in southern of Shanxi has a long history, and is one of representative traditional folk art forms. It's closely connected to social life, customs and public conditions of people in the southern of Shanxi, which implies the origin of traditional culture and preserves the beauties of national original culture. It was explored by folk artisan, and developed its own characteristics under the influence of culture in the east of the river.Through a lot of investigation and combining with document, I analyzed the natural environment and social environment of folk wood engraving new-year paintings, carded the history and development of the folk wood engraving new-year paintings, investigated humane factors that influenced folk wood engraving new-year paintings'formation and development, by integrating existing data, concluded the subjects and genre form of the folk wood engraving new-year paintings; Starting from the formative characteristics of the folk wood engraving new-year paintings, I surveyed the art characteristics of it, summarized Chinese traditional visual language symbols existing in the folk wood engraving new-year paintings, analyzed the composition forms, modeling regularity and coloring features of the folk wood engraving new-year paintings, excavated the artistic connotation and regional characteristics of the folk wood engraving new-year paintings, and then testified to its important status in Chinese painting arts.Based on the academic existing research results, this article analyzed more systematically and deeply the formation and artistic value of the folk wood engraving new-year paintings to show the unique charm of this old folk art more roundly, explore a way for it to survive and develop, thus achieve the purpose of seeking protection during development. Meanwhile, I also try to find a way for traditional visual art to develop by specific study on wood engraving new-year painting arts.
