This paper compared Yang Jiabu woodengraving new-year painting’s function and other paintings form from the origin, thehistory,the evolution of the style and the theme, the coloring model, the modelingconcept, the composition form and other aspects, in order to comprehensively andintuitively grasp the application of color in the folk pictures, to understand the uniqueof modeling style and composition form, to help us distinguish form other paintingsform, finally summarized the differences between domestic and foreign art, thusstudied and discussed the unique language style of Yang Jiabu wood engravingnew-year painting from many-sided and multi-angle, and acquainted the real folkpictures of development grain in the whole art road.This coming from life and higher than living new-year painting makes usthoroughly learn the unification of it and the ideology of traditional Chinese culture,the absorbable and learning value for the innovation of modern art, and moreimportant, appeal to us to cherish folk art which will disappear and had disappeared.
