A Report On The Translation Of English On Soil Science

This translation practice report is based on my translation of the abridgedVersion of "Soil Processes and Current Trends in Quality Assessment", covering theintroduction，research and summary about the translation procedure and completion ofthe task. This report is composed of four major parts, including the description of theoriginal text, the procedure description, the case analysis and the conclusion. Thedescription of the original text gives an overall introduction to this translation practice,including both the background and the significance of this translation practice, theintroduction to the original text and its authors. The procedure description shows thedetailed steps to fulfill the task. The case analysis part is the essence of this report,using the abridged version of Soil Processes as analyzing material. In this part, itsstyle characteristics are analyzed, then an initial research and exploration is made onthe EST translation strategy and skills. Finally, in the conclusion part, aiming at theerrors and problems in the translation, I generalize some translation strategies andskills on translation of soil science, and talk about some of my feelings through thistranslation practice.
