Research On The Relationship Between Volition Quality And Parenting Pattern Of Junior Middle School Students In Rural China

This article studies on volition quality and parenting pattern of junior middle school students in rural China by the methods of questionnaire. 514 students from three rural junior middle schools are investigated by BTL-L-YZ1.0 Scale for the general and Egma Minnen av Bardndosnauppforstran. The research conclusion is as follows:1.The differences of volition quality are significant among three grades in the rural junior middle school. Boys'continence and wisdom focus were significant better than girls. Girls'persistence,difficulty bearing and toughness were significant better than boys. Only child's self-fufillment and belief confirmation were significant better than non-only child. Children whose fathers have high level of education,have significant high level of belief confirmation and wisdom focus. While,whose mother have high level of education,have significant high level of self-fufillment.2.Parenting pattern has significant difference in the areas of gender, only child or not, grade, and parental education level: Boys get significantly more in these ares of punishment, excessive interference,overprotection,rejection,and preference than girls from their parents. Most only child's parents pay much attention to their children on these areas of emotional warmth, excessive interference and overprotection. Only Child's father rarely uses punishment to his child. Parental preference,excessive interference and overprotection and mother's emotional warmth have significant difference among three grades.3.There are more significant positive correlation between volition quality and parenting pattern,such as: Parental emotional warmth and volition quality and its all dimensions.Father's excessive interference and volition quality, belief confirmation, consciousness, self-fufillment, resoluteness and wisdom focus. Mothers'excessive interference and protection and belief confirmation, consciousness and self-fufillment. Mothers'preference and self-fufillment.And also there are some negative correlation between them,such as: Parental punishment and rejection and volition quality, goal clarity, independence and its dimensions, toughness and its dimensions. Mothers'punishment and consciousness.4.Parental emotional warmth has positive effect on volition quality,belief confirmation and difficulty bearing. Mothers'emotional warmth has positive effect on self-fufillment,goal clarity and wisdom focus. Father's emotional warmth has positive effect on continence,persistence,decision in time and fatigue endurance.However,Mothers'punishment have negative prediction on volition quality and persistence.Father's punishment have negative prediction on goal clarity, belief confirmation and difficulty bearing. Mothers'rejection have negative prediction on fatigue endurance.
