The development of modern science and technology, especially the development of modern information technology with the feature of network technique, has brought broad and deep influence to the field of education. Vocational and technical colleges have begun to explore the use of network instructional design in order to improve the teaching quality and the students'comprehensive quality, operational skills, practical working capabilities and creativity.This thesis traces back the development process of instructional design theories and practice, then points out the advantages of application of network teaching in the vocational and technical colleges. Based on the instructional design theories, the author of this paper puts forward the basic principles and main contents of higher vocational education. Finally, the author states in detail the application of network teaching.The contents of each chapter is as follows:Chapter One is the introduction to the study of network instructional design home and abroad. As for the problems and disadvantages existing in China's vocational and technical colleges, the author points out the importance of studying the network instructional designChapter Two describes the theoretical basis of instructional design concerning about the defining relative concepts of instructional design. In the thesis, some theories are presented, such as self-regulated learning theory, situation-cognition learning theory, multiplication-evaluation theory and equal theory which pays the way to the theoretical study of web-based instruction in the vocational and technical colleges.In Chapter Three, the author states the principles of web-based higher vocational education and the cognitive learning features of students in vocational and technical colleges, and points out the main contents of the thesis in seven aspects, i.e., the analysis of teaching objectives and tasks, the analysis of students'features, the design of teaching model and teaching strategy, the design of learning environment, the design of teaching resources, the design of learning activities and teaching process, the evaluation of learning.In Chapter Four, combining the net course Computer Application ABC, the author figures out the stages and steps in the application of web-based instructional design.Chapter Five is the conclusion in which the summary of the whole thesis is presented, and the shortcoming of the study in this field and the further development are also discussed.
