Kindergarten textbook, as an important part of kindergarten curriculum implement measurement, plays a very critical and special part in kindergarten education. It not only functions as the prime base of infant tutor's education activities, but also as the main source where infant can acquire their knowledge, skill and study strategy. In conclusion, to some extent, usage of textbook could reflect the actual level of curriculum implement.Currently, the kindergarten curriculum reform is developing to a further depth; development of course is bringing new changes to kindergarten textbook. Then what is the status of rural kindergartens textbook usage? This is currently the reality that the majority of infant education theorists and practitioners need to seriously explore.This study selected fifty-two kindergartens from Pingguo County, Guangxi Province, acquired data through questionnaires, interviews, text analysis, and also investigated the status of rural kindergartens textbook, and reflected and analyzed the issue found in the survey, and finally, made recommendations accordingly to rural kindergartens on their usage of textbooks.This study investigated in three major aspects of selecting textbooks in rural kindergarten, one is on the version; one is on the channel the kindergartens get their textbook (that is, in which ways and through what channel to buy certain types of materials); and the third is summarizing and classifying material selected by kindergartens in rural areas, and then concluding the sort and feature of textbooks used in rural kindergarten.The study shows that:(1) the number of version of textbooks used in the rural kindergartens is related to the location of kindergarten and the family economic condition of infant; (2)the main sources of textbooks in rural kindergartens is ordering from Department of Education, kindergarten's own and booksellers'marketing activities; (3) selection of textbooks in rural kindergartens has the feature of quantitativeness, coexistence of a variety of materials, inclination of selecting and using of literacy textbook.In usage of textbooks by rural infant tutors, the researchers, based on current status of usage of textbooks, analyzed three core factors that impact infant tutor's usage of textbook:(1) textbooks:insufficiency of supporting materials; vast capacity and rich content of teaching activities; over difficulty of textbook; faultiness of textbook theme and content. (2) Tutors:rural kindergarten tutors'insufficient textbook accomplishment; rural tutor's complain and lack of self criticism; the existence of traditional concept in them; imperfect structure of professional knowledge; The teacher subjectively makes the teaching materials as a thing of discipline. (3) External environment:lack of internal protection; lack of understanding and support from the parents; inadequate attention of the administrative department of education; imperfect training system of rural infant tutors.Finally, on the basis of research and reflection, the researchers raised the suggestion of using textbook in rural kindergartens:(1) perfecting the textbooks:provision of adequate support materials; reduction of textbook activity; reduction of the difficulty of textbooks; transformation of traditional concept; provide material follow-up. (2) Rural tutors'enhancement of self comprehensive accomplishment:improving self textbook accomplishment; enhancing ability of self criticism; changing traditional concepts; building up reasonable knowledge structure. (3) provision of strong external support:a solid internal protection; trying to get understanding and support from parents; strengthening support from administrative department of education; building up a sound training system for rural infant tutors.
