Research On The Problems Of Vocational Skills Training For The New Generation Of Migrant Workers

Since our reform and opening to the world, hundreds of millions of migrant workers have been to the cities for working, they have made great contributions to the China's socialist modernization. As the time goes on, the old generation of migrant workers returned home, a new generation of migrant workers borned in the eighties went into the society, they are called the new generation of migrant workers. The new generation of migrant workers is a unique group which appear in the process of our countries' economic and social development, due to the age of birth, growing environment and other reasons, compared with the traditional migrant workers, someone briefly summarize their characteristics as higher educational backgrounds, higher job expectations, higher material and spiritual enjoyment and lower work tolerance.The new generation of migrant workers generally have higher educational backgrounds, but in recent years, industrial structure has been upgrading rapidly, development of knowledge economy has been developing fastly, the knowledge and skills of the new generation of migrant workers is difficult to meet the need of labor market and economic and social development. Lack of knowledge and skills will not only affects the personal development of the new generation of migrant workers, but will also affect the upgrade of our countries'industrial restructure and the future of economic and social development. Therefore, the vocational skills training for the new generational migrant workers has important practical significance.The vocational skills training for the new generation of migrant workers is help for improving the job competence of the new generation of migrant workers, accelerating the development of new socialist countryside, promoting the speed and lever of our countries' urbanization, it is also benefit to maintain social stability and meet the needs of harmonious society's construction.Governments have organized many training for migrant workers these years, but the training for migrant workers now still have many deficiencies. Such as:Training programs are lack, teaching process is not standardized; Textbooks is obsolete, it couldn't keep up with the needs of times; Curriculum arrange is not scientific, teaching content is unreasonable; Training facilities are lacking, training condition is poor; Teachers is not enough, their teaching level is low; Teachers attach great importants to the theory teaching, neglect the practical training, their methods is single. Exist these deficiencies and problems is due to the recognitions to the importance of migrant workers'training is not enough, investment to the migrant workers is inadequate, lacking of effective organization and management and appropriate incentive policies.In order to establish more reasonable vocational training system for the new generation of migrant workers, on the base of facing the deficiencies and analyzing the reasons, I propose the following five suggestions. First, establish the correct concept of the vocational skills training for the new generation of migrant workers. Second, strengthen the organization and management of the vocational skills training for the new generation of migrant workers.The third, improve the quality and guarantee the effectiveness of the vocational skills training for the new generation of migrant workers. The fourth, establish corresponding incentive mechanisms to motivate the positivity of joining into the vocational skills training of the new generation of migrant workers. The fifth, increase investment to address the funding problem of the vocational skills training of the new generation for migrant workers.
