Pre-school Children Educational Game Software Design

Based on the problems of current computer game design and development for preschool children, the paper starts with the requirement of preschool children and does an exploratory research into the design of educational games for preschool children.First, the paper reviews the main achievements and important documents of the design and development of educational games for preschool children at home and abroad, summarizes main problems that still exist and determines the content and technical route of this paper.Then, the paper analyzes the relationship between computer games and preschool education. Combined with pre-school children's psychological characteristics, it analyzes the feasibility that computer games can be used in preschool education. Based on the analysis of learning goals, learning contents and learners, the paper divides the suitable educational games for preschool children into two types:puzzle games and role-playing games, and then makes a systematic analysis of the framework of the design.After that, according to puzzle game and role-playing games'systemic elements and design principles, a preschool children educational game design model is constructed. Selecting appropriate kindergarten curriculum, this paper designs and develops two preschool children educational games:"Little Niuniu across the river" and "Dragon Baby Travels". Then the paper illustrates the main steps and key technology of conception, design, development, and application of the games. The games are improved on the basis of the analysis of application effects.Finally, the paper illuminates the innovation and shortcomings of this research.
