"About the Overall Plan of Vocational Education and Higher Vocational Education Development"in "Chinese National Medium and Long-term Educational Reform And Development project Summary (2010-2020 Years)", not only has provided the policy guiding basis for this research, but also indicated the direction of the research. To further strengthen the close communication, and realize"the multi-level crossing bridge", is the urgent need of the time for the development of the medium and higher vocational education. To make research on higher vocational education engagement pattern in the advanced countries like Japan, and try to get one that suits China help to improve Chinese domestic vocational education, and inevitably, be beneficial for the sustainable development of China. Therefore, this research has positive application value and practical significance for the vocational education development of our country at the transitional time.Based on the previous research results, from the contrastive angle of higher vocational education engagement pattern between China and Japan, the article mainly elaborates the following several aspects: (1) Development condition of higher vocational education and the higher vocational education engagement pattern in Japan, which pays great attention to the engagement pattern's type analysis, and it mainly includes①Take five - year consistancy system as central engagement pattern,②Take test selecting system as central engagement pattern,③Take enrollment system as the central engagement pattern. (2) Development condition of higher vocational education and the higher vocational education engagement pattern in China, which also pays great attention to its engagement pattern classification analysis, and mainly includes①Take educational system as central engagement pattern,②Take suitable test system as central engagement pattern,③Take interscholastic union school as central engagement pattern. (3) The analysis of the long and short points of the higher vocational education engagement pattern in China and Japan, and the reason for that, which includes:①The analysis of the long and short points of the higher vocational education engagement pattern in Japan, and the reason for that.②The analysis of the long and short points of the higher vocational education engagement pattern in China, and the reason for that. (4) The enlightenment from Japan's vocational education on China, which includes①How to absorb the merits of Japan's engagement pattern,②How to construct our country's suitable engagement pattern.For the involvement of China and Japan's vocational education engagement patterns, which needs a long and practical inspection in Japan and is impossible to realize at the time being, it is very difficult to make the research. In addition, analyzes in Japan the higher vocational education engagement pattern good and bad points and the reason, discusses it and profits from the significance to our country's enlightenment also to need to screen rightly compared. Therefore, based on present research results, the article makes use of the contrastive research method, depending on the first hand materials, and pays great attention to relating the theory to practice, and from the contrastive angle between the two countries'vocational education engagement patterns, study the higher vocational education's development process of the postwar Japan and the present condition of it, discusses the several kinds of the patterns, and attempts to analysis the long and short points of it and the the reason for that. At the same time, emphasizes the comparison of the patterns between the two countries which brings the enlightenment of the pattern from Japan to China.
