From the angle of students'future development, non-intellectual factors play an important role in the students'life-long development. This paper discusses the relationship between non-intellectual factors and junior middle school math teaching. Based on personal teaching experience and related theories in education and psychology, it is intended to explore how to exploit the students'non-intellectual factors in mathematics teaching, thus facilitating students in maths study and enabling maths teachers to improve the quality of instructions by teaching more effectively. The text contains four chapters. The first chapter is the introduction. It expatiates not only the background of such teaching practice and psychology research, but also the significance of research on non-intellectual factors .The second chapter is a review of relevant documents. It introduces overseas research, home research, the definition of non-intellectual factors, four functions of non-intellectual factors, the role and content of non-intellectual factors in mathematics ,etc. The third chapter is about the tools and methods of research. By means of questionnaires, interviews and other methods, relevant data and information are collected and analyzed to learn about the status of non-intellectual factors in junior high school students, the differences of non-intellectual factors between boys and girls. This is to provide realistic basis for the targeted research on exploiting the non-intellectual factors in junior middle school students. The fourth is the core of the text. Through related basic research, three major non-intellectual factors with larger relevance of mathematics teaching—interests, emotions and wills—are chosen and focused on. Combined with teaching cases, it specifically expounds how to improve the three major non-intellectual factors in junior high school math teaching in order to improve the effectiveness in maths teaching. The final part is the conclusion and outlook. It summarizes the research results and deficiencies in this paper. In addition, a number of proposals are provided for future teaching.
