Application & Research On Middle School's Integrative Practical Activity Curriculum(published By JSTP)

In China, with the developmengt of the new mathematics curriculum reforming, Jiangsu Science &Technology Press(JSTP) published Compulsory Education Curriculum Standards Experimental Textbooks and Integrative Practical Activity Curriculum. Mathematics integrative practical activity(IPA) has been carried out in order in Jiangsu province. The schools in Suzhou Industry Park(SIP) are studying this project positively. But many problems still exist, and the schools with formed independent feature are not enough.Through questionaires, empirical research, interview and discussion, I have studied and analyzed the implementation of IPA in Jiangsu province, specially in SIP. Then I found out that teachers have many confusions: traditionally maths class teacher guides the teaching activities. But in IPA class, students are the center of the activities. How to define the target of teaching? How to design the class? How to distinguish the importance and difficulty? How to measure the activity? How to improve teacher's experience and ability? And under the heavy course loading, how can the taeacher spare more time for the developing of IPA?To solve these problems, we must reform the educational system, enhance the importance of IPA. Local education institutions should provide more training chances for teachers, and provide a platform for the teachers to communicate.Try to organize relative activities of IPA to wide teacher's horizons. Arrange more subjects about IPA in tests to reflect high requirement of integrative maths abilities.I also raises some more proposals for the future. Reflect the content of curriculum in program designs. Stimulate students'enthusiasm, arouse students'interest, improve the activity effect through practical operation. From now onwards, try our best to promote the development of students in a long period. Set up the reasonable measurement standars and pay attention on process evaluation.
