The Research On Problems Of Student Participation In University Management

Student participation in university management is an increasingly concerned educational management problem which follows the growing trend of development of a democratic society and higher education. Student participation in university management is a unique management style. It is historical and "Student Government" is an example; it is international and Western University School has long been using it as means of governance; it is more inevitable, as the perfect management system of higher education and a part of establishing modern university system. Its implementation is the need of the development of higher education. However, to us it is a bit vague and strange; the reason is that we do not really know student participation in university management and its importance so that we don't make it into practice in reality effectively.This article is based on the reality of the predicament, and by research and theoretical analysis it tells people: what this unique management style and student participation in university management is and what can be done to improve the current status of the student participation in university management.The Beginning of the article is a brief introduction to the research background of student participation in university management, which reviews the previous related research and defines the related concepts. All of that pave the way for the whole text. A total of four parts are included in the body. The first part is theory research of student participation in university management which makes a shallow analysis to the nature and properties of student participation in university management; the second part is new public service theory which opens new vision to university management. It discusses the need for student participation in university management and the integration and reference of new public service theory on student participation activities in university management; the third part is the current status analysis of student participation in university management, which is mainly by questionnaire surveys to get what problems existing in student participation in university management and to analyze the influencing factors involved in student participation in university management; the fourth part is the practical method of student participation in university management, which is get by the second part of the inspiration of new public service theory on student participation on university management. On the basis of the current status, from the perspective of university service departure, this part discusses the aspects such as the purpose, degree, subject and institution building of student participation in university management and so on respectively. Conclusion is mainly an overview of the main content and points out the existing shortcomings and future research directions.
