As the first beneficiaries of free normal education, and as the participants and practitioners of the important strategy of China's promoting balanced education development, the first free normal college students, after four years of normal education, will graduate in July 2011 and step into their jobs. And what the education administrative department, the recruitment colleges and universities and even the whole society concern is how they will look at and face their future education work. So it is of great importance to know well of the current situation of the professional awareness of free normal students, and it also does well to the development situation of China to strengthen and improve free normal education.Professional awareness refers to the tendency of people being engaged in some kind of social job in the future, and it was the driving source which determines people's choice for the job, loyalty to the job and qualification for the job. While professional awareness for free normal college students refers to the attitude towards the profession of teachers which is formed in the process of learning, and it also refers to the degree of efforts which is made to make themselves be qualified for the job. More specifically, it reflects on the five aspects, students' professional knowledge, professional ideals, professional beliefs, professional emotions and professional preparations. For free normal students, professional awareness is not only related to career choice, it was also linked to their competence for the future job, and it plays an important role in the guidance and regulation of their teaching career.In the existing related studies, the investigation time mostly focused on the entrance period; the research content are more concerned with the transverse, static comparative analysis, while it does not reflects the fore-and-aft development and change of professional awareness in the time span, and that is the starting point of this paper and what the paper will deal with.To grasp the professional awareness changes of the first free normal students more accurately and completely, this paper successfully conducted a questionnaire survey for three times from September 2010 until April 2011 (the fourth term), among 81 free normal students from D normal university. The research was also supported by life observation and typical case analysis, which revealed their professional awareness development during the time of employment practice, employment preparation, and employment double choosing, etc. Basing on these statistics, this paper categorizes and analyzes the subjective and objective reasons for professional awareness changes, and puts forward theoretical thoughts and suggestions.The research shows:1. The development of free normal students'professional awareness is not balanced, which reflects on the development differences of the transverse student groups and the imbalance of the longitudinal change trend.2. There will be some changes of students'professional awareness after they experienced employment practice, employment preparation, and employment double choosing when facing graduation. And the change tends to be"high-low-high".3. Professional awareness is easily influenced by various subjective and objective factors, which are mainly based on students' entrance motive, employment environment and policy effects and such reality facts and so on.4. The development level of professional awareness in a certain extent affects students' psychological health.Therefore, this article separately from the professional ideals, beliefs, curriculum system and the selection of free normal education system and make recommendations in three aspects:1. Vocational education in ideals and beliefs:The content of education, and strengthen the mental health of students; In vocational education and vocational guidance of psychological adjustment; Education methods, the traditional one-way change to guide students to self-education; In the education stage, the focus should pay attention to the organization of work, step by step manner;2. Curriculum areas: The value orientation of the course, we should strongly concerned about the ethics of the culture; The content selection, we should pay attention to the actual teaching professional course content and associated primary and secondary schools to enhance curriculum relevance; In the course structure, the practice may be appropriate to examine additional types of courses; Distribution in the curriculum, to "focus front" for the "center of gravity moved", the cultural ideal of education and vocational courses throughout; Type in the curriculum, focusing on educating people to play the role of hidden curriculum;3. Free Normal mechanisms for the selection and education: Improving the selection mechanism to apply for free education for students, the better the "doorway"; In the teaching of management, may be appropriate to introduce a phase-out mechanism;...
