At present, our higher education has been brought forward into the common stage of development, which objectively needs to regard the cultivating of high-quality applied undergraduate talents as the target of talents-cultivating adapted to it. In this context, many colleges launch the applied undergraduate educations, and this type of colleges has become an important part of our higher education. But this kind of colleges "how to meet social needs and train the high-quality applied undergraduate talents" is a new task which the present higher education sector has to face together.This study is illustrated by Chongqing Arts and Science Institute, and aimed at studying the present state, existent problems and the strategies to solve them of applied undergraduate talents. The full article can be divided into four parts.Firstly, We mainly uses questionnaire, interview and on-the-spot investigation to survey the present state and existent problems of talents-cultivating in Chongqing Arts and Science Institute. Firstly, the theory is divorced from the practice and their combination should be enhanced; Secondly, the curriculum system is not perfect and its structure should be optimized; Thirdly, teachers'educational ideas are out-dated and their educational skills are weak; the equipments of bases are out-dated and their utilization rate is low; the evaluating mechanism of practice teaching is still not perfected.Secondly, according to the existent problems, we analyse the causes of these problems. We respectively analyse the causes from five aspects:talents-cultivating mode, curriculum system and structure, teachers' diathesis, practice and the evaluating of practice teaching. Thirdly, we puts forward the strategies of promoting applied undergraduate talents-cultivating. The strategies consist of five aspects:improving cultivating mode and enhancing the combination of the theory and practice; optimizing the curriculum structure and perfecting the curriculum system; promoting teachers' diathesis and building "double-qualities" team; the cooperation of universities and enterprises and exploiting talents-cultivating channels; attaching importance to practice teaching and forming corresponding evaluating mechanism.In a word, I wish this study will have truly guiding role for Chongqing Arts and Science Institute and other universities and colleges to cultivate the applied undergraduate talents.
