Status Of Humanistic Quality, Problems And Targeting Strategies In Secondary Vocational School

In the era of China's social transition, students'humanistic quality is so greatly influenced by the gaudy and grotesque life around, the family and education surroundings also included, that students'humanistic orientation tends to be varied. Meanwhile, the school's focus on the practicability of vocational education and the aim at the students'employment after graduation is likely to lead to the neglect of the fact that students need to explore and expand their humanistic quality as well as to study professional skills and acquire knowledge concerned, that is, overstressing the"tool concept"in education but underemphasizing the"humanistic concept", which causes the deficiency of humanistic spirit. The increasing enrollment of colleges leaves the difficulty in finding qualified students for vocational schools. Those who could only be recruited inevitably show their weakness in academic achievement and humanistic quality, thus hard to meet the social requirement for students'all-around development.This paper illustrates the connotation and signification of students'cultivation of good humanity in secondary vocational schools. A comprehensive analysis has been made about the students'current status after a well-designed questionnaire, covering from the status of students'humanistic quality, their family life and education, future employment to the qualification of the teaching staff, for the students in Lianyungang Professional Training Center. With the help of the data, the writer sees into the reasons for the lower humanistic quality of the students, and a targeting strategy, therefore, is introduced to remedy the loss.
