The eighth national curriculum reform experiment carried out in September, 2001 significantly changed such aspects as curriculum rationale, curriculum goal, curriculum content. The national curriculum standard replaces the syllabus which has been used for decades. With a brand-new appearance,"Geography Curriculum Standard (experiment)"is the fundamental basis of textbook writing, teaching implementation, learning evaluation and test. As the implementation of"One Guide-Multiple Text"policy breaks the monopoly situation of"one key link", a wide variety of materials were put into use. Changes have also taken place in the position and function of the textbooks which have been a kind of"teaching materials"rather than the core of teaching. According to the needs, teachers can adjust, increase, expand and replace teaching content to meet the actual needs of students.In this paper, high school teachers use the fist geography textbook which students must learn in high school as a case. With the questionnaires to understand the adjustment, deletion, replacement, reorganization of the textbook content. This article consists of four parts:Part I: Introduction. Analysis and elaboration of the main research background, research questions and research significance.Part II: literature Review. Induct and comb research of high school geography textbook.Part III: Questionnaire. Focus on the following five aspects: High school geography teachers have implemented curriculum ideas, goals. Satisfaction of teachers. The use of textbooks proportion. Teachers adjust, replace, expand the content of textbooks in the various sections and encount the problems and difficulties when teachers use the textbook.Part IV: Conclusions and Suggestion. Summarizes the situations of the use of the first geography textbook. According to the problems existing in the textbook used. Make recommendations for the textbook writers, educational management organizations and high school geography teachers. In order to further revision and improvement textbooks, improve the level of teachers using textbooks.
