The assessment of senior school students in the overall quality is the basis of China's new round of curriculum reform. As a new part of the education reform, much confusion arises. Along with the development of the theory of in-depth evaluation on the overall quality of senior school students, it is necessary to clarify theoretical ideas and standardize the practice gradually. Therefore, the study on evaluating the overall quality of senior school is the practical requirements of senior school curriculum reform.While carrying out comprehensive quality evaluation of senior school students, No4 Middle School of XinYu in JiangXi Province has accumulated some experience in practice, but it is also facing many difficulties. The writer makes a investigation on the guiding ideology of the evaluation on the overall quality of the No4 Middle School of XinYu, principles of evaluation, content evaluation, implementation methods, the use of evaluation results and its safeguard measures. The survey shows that:due to the use of overall quality evaluation of senior school students, teachers were greatly awakened of "human consciousness", so that teachers'attention changes from focusing on "Score" to being concerned about the student's "overall quality". The implementation of the evaluation of overall quality of senior school students is good to the potential development in their students and is also good to better quality education. It can also promote senior school curriculum reform and encourage teachers to improve their quality. Until now it has played a positive role, and accumulated a lot of valuable experience. However, in the evaluation process, problems were still existing in the process:such as the difficulty to identify the evaluation index system, the lost purpose of evaluation, lack of supportive environment, the weakness of evaluation real practice, the weakness of the organization and implementation issues of the evaluation.For the current situation and problems of the evaluation of the overall quality of senior school students, I think we should focus on the following aspects:first, we should adhere to the concept of the evaluation of quality education. The purpose of evaluation must screening from a single evaluation of the main pluralism to educating people, from the only intellectual taste to the five domains, the ways of evaluation shifting from classroom-round to the fully dialectical subjective evaluation methods; Second, we must build a more scientific, more operational indicators; Third we must strengthen the organization and management; The last we must grasp a gradual process. We must respect the reality of the situation and circumstances of basic education development and at the same time actively and steadily push forward the comprehensive quality evaluation of senior school students.
