Homework design is a very important part in English teaching and in new English curriculum reform. The New English Curriculum Standards requires developing the students' ability to learn English comprehensively, to cultivate the students' interest in learning English and learning habits, which demands the teachers to change the traditional mode of homework under the new curriculum concept. Based on the analysis of the successful experience of the education home and aboard and the reality of our nation's education reform, the research of the mode of homework in junior school under the concept of The New English Curriculum Standards aims at solving the problems exist in the English homework design and to explore the new effective ways to promote the students' English proficiency, and to reduce the academic burden of the students and thus to improve their interest and initiative. This thesis focuses on the personalized homework assignment in the following two perspectives. The first is the principle of the homework assignment and the type of homework. The second is the principle and the method of correcting the homework and the pattern of homework. The final purpose of constructing the mode of homework is to cultivate the students' abilities of analyzing and solving the problems. Besides, the research tries to be students-centered and to develop their comprehensive abilities so that it will be helpful for the students to get improved not only in learning and skill but also in moral and emotion. Therefore, the reform will do good to the students in absorbing the new knowledge and thinking critically. Furthermore, the author hopes that the research can be a reference to the teachers in middle school to promote the education reform in junior school.
