| University archives is the crystallization of practical experience and wisdom ofteachers and students and the carrier of the heritage of university culture and spirit,containing many contents in aspect of teaching, research, management and so on andreflecting the various periods of the activities of the staff and students and playing animportant reference for the university future development and planning. With thecontinuing deepening of the reform of higher education, the university archives work isconstantly self-adjusting to fit in with the university teaching, research, managementneeds and more and more pressing social needs in the new situation. As the center part ofthe archives work, the establishment and operation of service system is also goingthrough a transformation----from seclusion to openness, from singleness to complex,from the traditional handwork to modernization management, which play a vital role inself-promotion, user expansion and even the archival utilization efficiency of theUniversity Archives. So, to strengthen the public service of the University Archives hasfar-reaching significance in teaching, research, management and social influence.This article is divided into six chapters: Chapter Ⅰ mainly Introduces thesignificance and purpose of this study, correlative theories, present situation of archivalsocial services and research methods, etc. Chapter II studies the background andfunctional definition of University Archival social services. Chapter Ⅲ analyzes thepresent status that Y university archives' service socialize, introduces the present statusand achievements of Y university archives work and elaborates this archives' serviceconditions for five years in the form of data. Chapter IV analyzes the existing problemsof archival social services from the awareness of human resources, financial resourcesand material resources. Chapter Ⅴ puts forward settlement strategies to improve theUniversity Archival social services by enhancing service awareness, personnel security,financial security, publicity security and technical support. Chapter VI probes intoexpansion of archival social services. |
