Students in junior middle school are the future builders and successors of socialism enterprise, as wellas the future of motherland and hope of Chinese nation. Whether contemporary junior middle schoolstudents can take up great mission and huge responsibility in which motherland vests, depends not only ontheir cultural quality and the physical quality, but also on their moral quality.As a soul-project of youth generation, ideological and moral education has made remarkableachievements in recent years, but in specific teaching activities still remains problems, such as focusing onthe knowledge instilling, neglecting of moral emotional cultivation, lack of thinking as students orunderstanding students' emotional experience, etc. An invisible wall appears between teachers and students,students lose interest, teachers lose confidence, education becomes more and more rigid, which leads to thefailure of ideological and moral education to some extent, the junior middle school students' learning ofmoral knowledge was not translated into moral behavior in real life.Ideological and moral education integrates knowledge and emotion, which is complex and diverse. Astwo integral key factors, knowledge and emotion play important role in teaching activities. Emotionteaching method is to warm and open the students' mind with emotion, to stimulate their interest in learningand enhance motivation for learning, narrow the gap between teachers and students, to cultivate thestudents' healthy and positive ideas and establish good moral character, and also to complete teachingobjectives better under the new curriculum reform. Through study of certain scholars' theories and therelevant applications in practice, this paper aimed to make some research of the application of emotionteaching theories in the ideological and moral teaching in junior middle schools, and based on the existingresearch results, to present the writer's new ideas.By conducting a questionnaire survey, individual interviews and focus group discussion involvedsome of the teachers and students of Lao Jun Tai middle school in Lu Yi County, a detailed understandingof existing problems in the current ideological and moral teaching was obtained, and the causes analyzed.There are many reasons. But its root cause is that affected by the traditional education mode and therelationship between teachers and students, teaching methods and means is single, repeat and necessary communication and exchange of the teachers′and the students′ideas, opinions andfeelings is lack, which makes the students have fear and irritability to teachers, rejected psychologicalmood and escape psychology to ideological and moral courses. In this paper, the meaning, thecharacteristics, and the theoretical basis of the emotion teaching method were elaborated in depth, andthe writer put forward the idea that the application of the emotion teaching method was the key tosolve the problems existing in the current ideological and moral teaching in junior middle schools, andthe method was also an effective measure to improve the teaching quality, making the teaching goaleasier to achieve. The value of the emotion teaching method in the ideological and moral teachingwere discussed in detail, explicating that in the application of the emotion teaching method not onlyneed to improve the overall quality of the teachers, also need to change education mode, to createatmosphere, to build a harmonious relationship between teachers and students, and to cultivateinterests, maximizing the effects of the emotion teaching method. The method is able to improve theeffectiveness of ideological and moral teaching, and students' innovation and learning initiative,therefore to provide theoretical guidance on promoting comprehensive development of students.
