In the era of network information, the way people live, work and learning have undergone profound changes. With the upsurge of educational information, education experts and scholars put an increasing concern of the educational games. As a new type of educational media in the digital age. educational games have the dual attributes of educational and entertaining, it's helped to expand the amount of information. active class atmosphere, increase students' interest in learning and improve teaching quality. The integration of educational games and subjects, break-through the limitations of traditional teaching, reveals a new teaching methods, provides a new idea for basic educational innovation.The New Curriculum Reform and Quality Education dish to change the traditional teaching structure of classroom-centered and teacher-centered.Create teaching situation which conducive to independent learning. cooperative and inquiry. Educational games integration into classroom teaching provides the possibility of implementation of edutainment.This paper researched the application of educational games in Chinese teaching in primary schools through research, experimental research and interview. On the basis of previous studies and document searching, described the relevant concepts and theoretical basis of educational game.and it's characteristics and classification, analysised present situation of primary school Chinese teaching. On the basis of theoretical discussion, elect two parallel classes (Grade3Class2and Grade3Class4)of Shenzhen Bao'an District X school as research object, choose " Learning Journey to the West" as experimental software which sync with teaching material, teaching content was unit seven of PEP third grade. After the experiment, the two classes had an unit testing.the experimental results was analysisde by SPSS, the effect of educational games in Chinese teaching in primary schools was verified. Then interviewed with the teacher of experimental class, analyzed the existing difficulties of educational games in reality.Studies have shown that the use of educational games assisted primary Chinese teaching help enhance students' score from an overall, it plays a positive and effective role in improving the overall quality of students and teaching:high performing students still maintain the original level, middle grades students with poor academic performance improved significantly;game software, teaching facilities and teachers' information literacy is the bottleneck restricting the development of educational games. In network environment, the innovation of media will have a significant impact for teaching and learning styles, educators have long way to go.
