Dyeing and finishing plays an important role in textile industry and it is a key to reflect the economic value of the textile and improve the added value of textile and clothing. Ionization of some groups appears in natural fiber macromolecule, or hydroxyl ions are absorbed selectively and water molecules were absorbed qualitatively by natural fiber macromolecule in the dyeing bath, which results in negative charge in the surface of natural fiber and leads to low dyeing rate, low color fastness, wastes a lot of dyes and water resources, increases the enterprise cost and causes serious environmental pollution problems. Research shows that cationic grafting modification of natural fiber can be a good solution to the dyeing problems. This paper focuses on pigment dyeing, cationic modification and low temperature plasma, to explore the effect of baking method cationization on pigment dyeing properties of cotton fabric and analyse the influence of baking method of cationic modified on the value of K/S of pigment dyeing fabric and color fastness. The tests showed that dyeing properties of cationic modified cotton fabric were much better than the cotton fabric which were not modified and the cotton fabric which were modified by cationic but not baked. Plasma cationic modified cotton fabric and plasma treated cotton fabric were treated under the same condition. A comparison between the two treatments were made. Through the analysis of the test data, plasma cationic modified dyeing properties of the cotton fabric which is much better than the plasma treated cotton fabrics. The fabric surface were etched by the plasma treatment and the mechanical properties of the cotton fabric has a slight change. Comparison between Plasma treated and untreated cotton fabric cotton fabric showed that the influence of plasma treated cotton fabric in dyeing performance is much better than the untreated cotton fabric. Regardless of the ways of the treatment on the fabric, as the concentration of the pigment and adhesives increased, the dyeing effect of fabric became better. However, when the amount exceeded, the growth rate reduced significantly. Baking temperature and time has a little influence on the apparent depth of the dyed fabric, but has a great influence on the color fastness of fabrics. However, both baking temperature and time have effect on the reaction rate and extent of reaction of adhesive. The results showed that low temperature plasma cationic modified with cationic method had the same effect with baking cationic modified dyeing method. The advantages of plasma cationic modification in water and resource conservation, waste reduction and saving time were obviously superior with baking cationic modification. However, the low temperature plasma baking cationic modification consumes more cationic modifier than baking cationic modifier.
