As the higher requirements for the product individuation and modularize design,many varieties of small batch is the major Manufacturing method for the currentcompany. In order to increase the production efficiency, reduce the labour cost,get thepermanent competitiveness, many companies adopt the mixed build line. Planningability especially in line balancing is also very weak in the local company for thereason of short of system research in this area. So it is important and necessary for theenterprises to construct a reasonable mixed build line planning and balance modelunder such a new operating style.Based on the current company self-made standard, we use the industrialengineering theory(Program analysis method and Standard data method)to identifythe process sequence and assembly time of the line. And then confirm the minimalworking stations by using heuristic balancing method. At the same time, we designthe mathematic model which use the minimum idle time and overload time as thetarget function, minimum production cycle as the research object. We use the geneticalgorithm and MATLAB software calculate the better build sequence to get a goodbalance for the mixed build line.
