With the continuous development of embedded technology and satellite positioning technology, automotive embedded positioning and navigation system has become the new focus of the automotive industry with the help of global positioning system. At the same time, China’s automobile industry has recently witnessed a booming trend, various types of vehicles increase steadily year by year,and all kinds of car theft cases have also occurred, goods stolen is particularly serious. In addition, the vehicle monitoring and driver assistance features are also hot issues to be solved in the automotive industry. Therefore, the automotive embedded positioning and monitoring has become a large market demand,that’s the reason why the article design a new vehicle safety prevention and control instrument.On the basis of carfully analysis the status of research and development about security design,vehicle positioning and vehicle monitoring, Combined with the actual situation in the vehicle operation with empirical parameters, the article designs a vehicle remote positioning and monitoring system with ARM9processor and embedded Linux operating system as the core. Features include vehicle location, vehicle theft, theft of goods, speed limit, a major traffic accident detection, prolonged fatigue driving, voice alarm, SMS alarm and so on,and the system hardware and software design have all completed, now it has successfully entered the trial run.This work includes two parts, namely the hardware circuit design and software design.Hardware circuit design of the system is divided into three parts, namely main control board, controller, door monitoring.Main control board is the function center of the system,it’s control and computing core is high-performance S3C2440A processor.In addition,it also includes iT500GPS circuitry, SIM900A remote data transmission circuit,ADXL278acceleration detection circuit, voice broadcast circuits, network interface circuits, the433Mhz to close range wireless data transmission circuit, the rotary encoder circuit, power circuit and so on. Controller and door monitoring begin with low-power single-chip MSP430core, Controller’s functions is similar with the remote controller, user can change the work state and mode of the control board through controller. The door monitor is responsible for monitoring the switching state of the door, cargo door, and give the results to main control board.Software design mainly include the transplantation of the operating system and application design. The former mainly include system kernel, driver preparation and loading and so on. The key to system functions is application, It collectes data by calling the system interface functions, and then computate upper function and judgment.Finally, the article tested the electrical characteristics and function of the system systematically, the test results show that the system is working properly, and basically reached the indicator of design.
