Main reducing gear is the start and the key component of micro vehicle rear-axle, its assembly quality affect the quality of rear-axle even the vehicle’s dynamic performance directly. The most influencing factor of main reducing gear’s no-load rotational torque is the preloading of tapered roller bearing. So how to control the level of the preloading is the point of this paper.The research of this project begins with antifriction bearing theory, then explains tapered roller bearings. It is a more accurate control method by some formulas and introduces the experiential formulas about how to calculate the friction resistance torque of bearing. After that, having a mechanical analysis to a kind of micro vehicle main reducing gear by the theories about threaded connection, interference fit and elastic deformation, you can get the enforced situation about the components of main reducing gear under the tightening torque.Secondly,you build the parameterized finite element model in ANSYS by referring to design drawings of the micro vehicle rear-axle. Then apply boundary conditions to the finite element model by referring to the enforced situation of the main reducing gear that mentioned, you can figure out the enforced situation about the components of main reducing gear that under the tightening torque in a simulation environment. At last, through the operating of ANSYS’element table, you will get the friction resistance torque of main reducing gear. Change the thickness of spacer shims when you calculate the ANSYS program, then you can get the relationship between the preloading of main reducing gear and no-load rotational torque. Meanwhile, you will prove that the simulation analysis simulates the reality through having a comparison between the value that calculated by theoretical derivation and experimental data.You could get the relation curve between the preloading of main reducing gear and no-load rotational torque through the theories and simulation analysis in this project. So you can select the appropriate thickness of spacer shims or no-load rotational torque by this relation curve. It is a design basis and optimization basis for improving the assembly quality and entirely quality of main reducing gear, and decreasing the power losing of vehicles.
