With China’s sustained rapid development of national economy and improvement ofpeople’s living standards in recent years, the private purchase of cars has become animportant consumption of China’s economic development. The car has gradually becomeone of the indispensable tools of traffic instead of walking. It is inevitable that more andmore private car come into families.However, due to the fast step of urbanization,the inadequate preparation of cityvehicle development and the unreasonable city space of dynamic and static traffic planningand construction cannot meet the requirements of motor vehicle parking demand, leadingto the escalation of parking problem in residential area of our current country city and theintense situation. This paper summarizes for the development and research of residentialparking problem through surveying and visiting in the field, collects information toanalysis, based on the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) model for analysis the optimalmode of residential parking, and evaluates the selected parking model. Finally, summarizethe present way to dealing with the intense situation, and puts forward some suggestions tosolve the parking problem. Specific work includes:Put forward the topic background, and sums up urban residential parking planningmethod and related research results of our country and foreign different cities. And classifycity residential based on the investigation. Using AHP to analysis new and old residentialparking facilities choosing, gets the optimal parking mode choice and fuzzy evaluation forit. Finally, the results of the analysis will be applied to specific examples of residential areato plan parking facilities for the new and old residential cases, and puts forward advices forwill-building residential parking facilities planning.
