With the development of permanent magnet materials manufacturing technology,power electronics, microprocessor and control theory, the permanent magnet synchronousmotor (PMSM) is widely used in AC variable speed drive system increasingly. Especiallywith the rapid development of the digital signal processor (DSP), it provides a hardwarebasis for the application of advanced control algorithms and lead PMSM AC speedregulating system to be the research focus recently. In this paper, aiming at how to improvethe control performance of PMSM AC variable speed system and its implementation, thefollowing major elements are researched:The characteristics of the various structures of the permanent magnet synchronousmotors are studied, combined with vector control theory, the dynamic mathematical modelof permanent magnet synchronous motor is established. Vector control strategy based onmaximum torque current ratio is selected as the current control strategy of this controlsystem.In order to verify the feasibility of the designed controller, the PI controllers ofcurrent loop and speed loop of a PMSM control system are designed in accordance withthe engineering design method and the deficiencies of PID controller and traditional fuzzyPID controller are researched. On this basis, a simple quantification factor self-tuningfuzzy PID controller is proposed. The entire vector control system simulation modules arebuilt on MATLAB simulation platform to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposedcontroller and provide the reference for the design of the software.Controller and power driver circuts are designed based on TMS320F2812DSPproduced by TI Company. Debugging results prove the stability of the performance of thehardware system to meet the control of PMSM. It provides a basis for the research ofimproving the control performance of PMSM AC variable speed system.The software of the entire control system are developed based on C, mainly includingSVPWM procedures, testing procedures of current and speed, control program of thecurrent and speed and the software design flows are given. Combined with the hardware and software platform designed, experimental results show that the control system has highquick response and steady-state accuracy. The simulation results and experimental resultsdemonstrate that the controllers designed are effective and improved the controlperformance of PMSM AC speed regulation system.
