With the living level improved,the public give more concerns to the wind and thermal environment in residential districts.The good thermal environment can give people comfortable and satisfied life and exercise.The factors which influence thermal environment in residential districts are local climate condition, layout forms,building shape,building orientation and wind azimuth etal. In this paper, the outdoor wind and thermal environment of residential districts is studied with the layout forms, wind azimuth and building orientation.And the impact of the reflectivity of the ground on the thermal environment is also studied.In this paper, a residential district in Guangzhou of China as the research object. First,based on the existing research, the coupling of solar radiation, convection heat transfer, radiation heat transfer and computational fluid dynamics is established. The form of four typical layout, numerical simulation model and thermal comfort level are also established. Four typical layout form with different buildings orientation and different wind angle,were simulated to gain wind and thermal environment. The results indicated:when the prevailing winds is east, the good order of thermal environment of the residential district is staggered layout>row layout>indented layout>enclosing layout; when the prevailing winds is east-south, the good order is staggered layout>row layout>enclosing layout>indented layout; when the prevailing winds is south, the good order is indented layout>enclosing layout>row layout>staggered layout; and it should decrease the influence which the buildings obstruct the wind velocity, at the same time it should be avoided that the direction of the major road is perpendicular to the velocity vector.For the existing residential district,when there is a bad win-heat environment, it can be changed the thermal performance of the building surface and pavement material (such as absorption, albedo),or change the underlying surface material to improve the thermal environment. In this paper the influence of the different albedo on the thermal environment in residential district was studied.The results show that increase of the reflectivity of the ground material can reduce the temperature of the surface of the ground,the temperature of the nearby air to improve thermal comfort, but it is unconspicuous in some places.
