This is a project report on translation of "Quality Control and Accountability",Chapter7of A Practical Guide for Translators written by Geoffrey Samuelsson-Brown.This chapter is mainly concerned with how the translator preserves the quality of histranslations and his/her accountabilities under different circumstances while doingtranslation, touching the issues such as the correlations of translation quality(hereinafter referred to as quality) and translation purpose, quality and volume oftranslation production, quality and time and cost related to translation, etc. The reportconsists of four parts. Part1is an introduction where the background, purpose,significance and components of the translation project are described. In Part2, apartfrom briefing the background of the author of the source text (hereinafter referred to asthe ST), the main contents as well as the language features of the ST are examined. Part3focuses on the difficulties encountered while translating the ST and the translationskills adopted in the process of translation are also observed with examples. Part4summarizes the experiences and lessons by the translator while carrying through theproject. And insufficiencies that should be made up in the future are also included.
