The Conjunctions in Chinese are used to connect the words, phrases, clauses andsentences. According to the relationship of language units which are connected byconjunctions, we can divide the conjunctions into two kinds: The Coordinative and Themodifier-modified conjunctions. Parallel Conjunction is one category of CoordinativeConjunction. The amount of Parallel Conjunctions are limited, however, a high frequencyand extensive use make Parallel Conjunctions more difficult to the foreign students whostudy Chinese as a second language. When they use Parallel Conjunctions, many regularerrors appear. We can have a thorough understanding about the often-used Parallel Conjunctionswhich are“he”、“er”、“bing”and“ji”in contemporary Chinese with a perspectiveof comparison and development. So as to master the development and characteristics ofoften-used Parallel Conjunctions in the process of teaching Chinese as a second language.Based on HSK Dynamic Composition Corpus of Beijing Language And CultureUniversity,we can make an objective and systematic study through the error analysis ofParallel Conjunctions of foreign students. We divided the errors into four kinds:Omission,,Addition,Overrepresentation and Disordering. With the conclusion,we sum upreasons and features of these errors. From the angle of solving the errors, we makesuggestions on teaching Chinese Parallel Conjunctions to foreigners, meanwhile, we willput our conclusions of research into guiding us teaching Chinese as a second language.
