In recent years, with the gradual rise of China as a Global Power and the i mprovement of its international status, the Chinese language has been receiving more and more attention, and a "Chinese Fever" has emerged around the world. In South Korea, this "Chinese Fever" impels more senior middle school students to choose Chinese as their second foreign language (FL). However, due to the already established educational outline of South Korea, Chinese is only a second FL, whose importance is much inferior than that of the core subjects-such as English, thus South Korean students almost only use class time to learn Chines e. Time spent on review is short and the continuity of learning is greatly affecte d, hence the problem of oblivion is serious. Specific to this situation, on the bas is of the former research, the author synthetically used the method of survey, int erview, and statistical analysis and took110senior middle school students of Jin quan City in South Korea as the objects of this study on Chinese learning situat ion. The author found through the research that:Ⅰ. The senior middle school students of South Korea are more and more i nterested in learning Chinese. However, due to the fact that Chinese is just a se cond FL whose importance is much inferior than that of the core subjects, the st udents mainly use class time to learn Chinese and spend little time on it out of class, on their own.Ⅱ. Most of the students use textbooks as their major learning materials to1earn Chinese, but it is not easy for them to have a good command of Chinese i n a very short period of time. Therefore, teachers should pay more attention to t he practicability of the content used and the validity of their teaching methods, use intensive teaching, allow more practice time, and make the most of the adva ntages of class time so that students can concentrate on studying and grasping th e content.Ⅲ. Since the majority of students are keen on music, using songs when tea ching Chinese classes can make the class atmosphere lively.According to the results of the survey above, the author explores the metho ds of using songs in Chinese teaching on the basis of the comprehensive consid eration of the continuity and the oblivion of study.Firstly, the author analyzed the Chinese Textbook Chinese Textbook I of So uth Korea from the four angles of pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and cultural content. Secondly, through surveys and interviews, the author learned about stud ents’ Chinese level, grasped the key points and difficulties of studying Chinese f or them and what types of songs they are fond of. Finally, based on the inform ation selected and adapted songs, the author gives a detailed introduction of the application of songs in Chinese pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and cultural aspects teaching.
