Research On Business Contract Translation Approaches From The Perspective Of Coherence Rule In The Skopos Theory

Business contract translation is a special kind of applied writing. In order to meet the requirements of the translation work, the translator must have appropriate translation theory to direct translation behaviour. In this paper, the author uses examplication and comparison analysis the E-C and C-E business contract versions to sum up the characteristics of the business contract and its translation approaches from word, phrase and sentence levels.The thesis is guided by Skopos theory, exploring the translation approaches of business contract. The author deems that the business contract translation based on Skopos theory. And the approaches are practical and feasible. The paper discusses basic concepts of Skopostheorie in the German functionalist which must have guiding significance on business contract. The author distinguishes the differences between Intratexual Coherence and Intertexual Coherence in further observation and studies the relationship between Coherence Rule in the examples of E-C translation of business contract and explores all kinds of flexible translation approaches to improve the coherence of translated text during the translation process. For examples:When the translator translates the archaism, long and complex sentence or modal verb, the basic translation approaches such as formula, creative, addition, omission, literal and free translation are used according to the language characteristics of business contract and different content and meanings. All these approaches are used to achieve the communication effect of business contract and improve the quality of contract translation.As a result, it remains an objective criterion, which is significant both practically and theoretically. The Skopos of translation determines the translation method. The thesis is emphasizing the importance of applying Skopos theory to business contract translation again and it is also pointing out that Skopos theory needs to be improved and developed through practice. And the author also hopes that the application of the translation in this field can have certain enlightenment function.
