As the trend of learning Chinese language is growing, the research related to teachingChinese as a foreign language is also in progress and improvement. Teaching Chinese as asecond language is not only to teach students "speak" in Chinese, but also to teach them to learn"how" to speak in Chinese. In daily life, work and study, in order to accomplish the task ofcommunication, foreign students have to pay attention to the appropriateness of language exceptaccording to the Chinese grammar rules and the right ways of expression. Euphemism is acommon phenomenon in different languages. In the conscious or unconscious circumstances,almost every day everyone use euphemism. Therefore, when foreign studengts communicatewith the others, if they can use correct and appropriate expression of euphemism is a measure ofan important symbol of foreign students’ability of using Chinese language.At present, compare with the euphemism ontology research and comparative study ofChinese&English euphemism, specialized in teaching Chinese as a foreign language is almost ablank. We had to face the fact that this is serious imbalance from its importance.This paper mainly refer to series of "新编汉语教程" and "发展汉语" books, starting fromthe contrastive study of Chinese and English euphemisms and intention through comparison ofChinese and English euphemism, induction, and further promote the application of euphemism inteaching Chinese as a foreign language. Therefore, bring some euphemism teaching strategiesand methods.Because of the limited personal knowledge and ability, this paper relates to the object is"fixed euphemism". Composed by temporary grammatical or phonetic means the euphemisticexpression method is not within the scope of the study.This paper only study from the view of Chinese and English euphemisms. Other contrastivestudy and teaching research of euphemism between Chinese and other languages still need to bestudied.
