During the teaching of cross-cultural communication, calligraphy is paid moreand more attention as a subject with a long history and culture, however, researchabout teaching calligraphy as a second culture in China is still in the stageof.practical exploration at present, To some extent, teaching contents and teachingmethods maybe copy experience in domestic, we can’t deny that the experience indomestic can give a better advice about teaching, it’s more important for teachersthat drawing experience from practice, especially the one from different foreignstudents, our teachers should calrify the teaching contents and methods according tothe culture background of different foreign students, so that improving betterteaching.Research of calligraphy teaching as a second culture is not comprehensive andextensive as teaching in domestic, on the one hand, calligraphy teaching as a secondculture is a new thing and insufficient understanding is normal, on the other hand,because the students are from many different countries, different culturebackgrounds, it increases the difficulties for researching about teaching. It showsthat researchers must not use one-size-fits-all approach, necessary for them toresearch according to the different students from different places, for example,teaching method of students from Europe or from southeast Asia, this text is aimedat researching thai students learning Chinese calligraphy, the author practicedteaching in Thailand for10months and started calligraphy as an elective course.Combining with the characteristics of Thai students’learning, the author research theteaching contents and methods, so that carrying out the teaching. Combining with the existing teaching achievements, this text carries out thediscussions according to the teaching objects and contents, so that attain the goalabout improving the interests of learning calligraphy and enhancing the teachingeffect. After the teaching,all the thai students in the class had a roughlyunderstanding about Chinese calligraphy, they can accomplish a calligraphy workindependently. The author hopes to summarize some beneficial teaching experiencesthrough this teaching activity to guide practice, also hopes to raise the otherteachers’concern and lead to better suggestions.
