Since the booming of Chinese learning, a larger amount of Korean students are coming toChina for their further education. Nevertheless,a lot of Korean students are experiencingdifficult time because of hardness of using ‘idioms’. Especially in the terms of “specifyingthe meanings” and “fixed structure”. Ultimately, numbers of students are neither avoidingusing idiom when they write nor when they speak. As a result, we can see that in Chineseteaching, to teach how to use Chinese“idioms”is the hardest part of all. Even though differentpeople have researched the effective way to teach the use of Chinese‘idioms’, but the resultwas not so pleasant and there was different language difficulties between students to studentsaccording to their nationality. Therefore, the research in use and the teaching of Chineseidioms has to be done. This thesis will be introducing the value of teaching Chineseidiomsand ways of teaching Chinese idioms to Korean students based on the information of thelanguage barrier and theircommon mistakes.This thesis first will have a look at the purpose of this research, state of the research (stateof the teaching Chineseidioms, subject of Chinese idiom itself), researcher, researchdevelopments. Secondly, will explore the theme of comparing the expression of Chinese-Korean idioms furthermore, it also compared the structure of idioms and its meanings.Thirdly, it gives an example of why Korean students are keep on making mistakes andanalyzed the reason why the same mistakes keeps on occurring. Lastly, based on the result ofthe research, this thesis suggested how the Korean students should study Chinese idiomswhen they are studying authenticChinese. Asan educationalcounterplan, there are such as“comparing Chinese-Korean language”,“providing the certain environment”,“use ofstructure”,“opening the new subject of Chinese idioms” and also there is a counterplan of“encouragement”. So unknown person said,“If you want to know whether one can reallyspeak the language, you can test them by how much of idioms they know in thatlanguage.”To conclude, this thesis is hoping that Korean students can realize the importanceof studying and using the Chinese idioms when they learnChinese language. Moreover, thisthesis hopes that Korean people can use the Chinese idioms in their lives.
