Gei construction,a common structure in modern Chinese,is an important structure inteaching Chinese as a foreign language. This paper begins with the study of style of geiconstruction and then systemically analyzes the bias errors of foreign students when they acquiregei construction,which are based on the bias copra from the HSK dynamic composition corpusof Beijing Language and Cultural University and the written corpora and inquiry of Ji NanUniversity. The main contents of this paper are as follows:First, based on the research of the previous scholars, the author summarizes thedevelopment of the meaning and part of speech of the word gei respectively,which wascombined with the research and study of the important Chinese teaching material in foreignlanguage teaching to define the meaning of gei construction,that is the sentences including theword gei and expressing the meaning “giving” in the written form of modern Chinese. Then theauthor studies the gei construction as preposition and verb from the perspectives of syntax,semantic and pragmatics.Then this paper has a classification of the bias errors of gei construction made by foreignstudents based on interlanguage corpora,questionnaire survey,interlanguage theory and errors intheory. As a preposition,the bias errors of gei construction mainly consist omitting,adding,wrong order and wrong substitution. While as a verb,the errors are mainly omitting andsubstitution. Next,the paper have a detailed analysis of the reasons from the aspect of negativetransfer of native language and target language,the defects of textbooks,the foreign students’inner factors and the context.Last, according to foreign students’ acquisition of gei construction and the reasons for biaserrors,this paper will put forward to some specific teaching strategies from the aspects ofstrengthening ontology study,improving teaching material,standardizing teaching order,focusing on contrastive analysis and optimizing class.
