Lenin’s theory of learning which is an important component of Leninist theory,is about the essence, laws and methods of learning. In the process of leading theRussian proletarian revolution and socialist construction practice, Lenin criticallyabsorbed the traditional view of Western learning, especially the traditional essence of Russianlearning, and summarized the Russian proletarian practice experience, formed his theory oflearning gradually, with Marxism created by Marx and Engels as the theoreticalbasis. Lenin’s theory of learning inherited from Marxist learning theory andcreatively developed Marxist’s learning theory.Lenin’s theory of learning is very rich in content, mainly including: the essenceof learning, the contents of learning, the methods of learning, the effect of learning,etc. It systematically answers a series of basic questions such as what is learning,what can be learned, how to learn, and what to learn, forming a rigorous theoreticallogical system. In Lenin’s view, people are the subject of study, whose learning is acreative, critical activity with unification of knowledge and practice.The content oflearning mainly including the study of Marxist theory, the study of science andtechnology, the study of cultural knowledge and the study of practical skills etc.Lenin has always advocated the methods of learning such as linking theory withpractice, applying book knowledge into practical use, combining external impositionwith self-cultivation and unifying inheritance and innovation together. In Lenin’sopinion, learning is a fundamental way to help cultivate the qualified communistbuilders and reliable communist successors. And learning is the basic measure toenhance the quality of the people and particularly the party cadres. It is an urgentdemand to strengthen the comprehensive power of communist nation and especiallythe cultural soft power. Therefore, Lenin’s theory of learning has characteristics ofbeing practical, scientific, universal and open.It is an important strategic task for the whole party and the whole nation to build a learning-oriented society with lifelong learning for everyone, and construct aMarxist learning-oriented party. A correct understanding and comprehension ofLenin’s learning theory will be of practical significance for the above tasks. And alsoit will be practically significant for implementing the strategy of reinvigoratingChina through science, education and human resources and building a CulturalPowerful State.
