A certain degree of social mobility is the important conditions of stable and sustainable economic and social development, As China has entered a new stage of development, how to avoid the "middle income trap" is the focus of current and future period of time.According to the direction of social mobility, we can divide into the vertical mobility(people’s social position changes in the vertical) and the horizontal mobility(people’s social position changes in the horizontal), vertical mobility can be divided into upward mobility (to enhance people’s social position) and downward mobility(people’s social position declined); According to the standard of comparison, social mobility can be divided into intergenerational mobility (the change of children’s social position relative to parents’) and intra-generational mobility (the social position changes in career life). In general, the study of social mobility focus on vertical mobility and intergenerational mobility, such as the turnover of the calculation, and international comparison etc.A person’s social status is often related to their gender, age, educational, vocational and others, different scholars from different aspects studied and achieved considerable results. In China, due to the relative lack of micro data and others, the development of this area relative late. At present, research mainly focused on income, occupation, and a few other areas.Education not only directly related to social status, but also indirectly affect social status by vocational, income and others. Education is a very important factor both for a country, families and individuals. In other countries, Empirical studies have shown that many children and parents in the education level showed a high degree of correlation, and further study also found that different countries in the intergenerational mobility of education have some similarities. In different gender, different regions, different times there are some differences. In the intergenerational mobility of education, parents’education not only directly influence the next generation’s education through various means, but also indirect affect of the next generation’s educational level by affecting parents’income, occupation, and other. At present, there are few related literature in domestic. With the income gap widening and social stratification become more apparent today, in-depth study of intergenerational mobility of education in China will undoubtedly contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of intergenerational mobility, and provide theoretical support to further possible intervention. In this paper, we use CHARLS data to analysis the intergenerational mobility of education in China, first reference intergenerational income mobility research methods, using some simple descriptive analysis methods to testing whether the intergenerational mobility of education in China is the same as abroad, the results show that the intergenerational education mobility in China is similar to some foreign countries, there have obvious gender differences, regional differences, urban-rural differences, age differences etc in the intergenerational education mobility. Compared with other countries, both the similarities, such as gender differences, and differences, such as the region, urban-rural differences especially prominent in China. Then we analysis the mechanism of intergenerational mobility of education, we believe that the level of parental education, mainly through economic capital, human capital, social capital and cultural capital four channels to influence children’s educational level, and then affecting their children’s professional life. Finally, we using some simple econometric models to test the relevant conclusions.
