Poetry, is a gem in the history of Chinese literature. Since the May Fourth New Culture Movement, was born inherited the classical poetic tradition, and the influence of modern Western theory of poetry Poetry body. Compared with the classical poetry, the poetry content and expression, more freedom, more easily accepted by people. Therefore, poetry has much the favorite of young people. China has a long tradition of poetry education, but in today’s secondary language classroom, teaching poetry the status quo is not so optimistic. Contemporary high school students by the network culture, and fast-food culture, coupled with in recent years, the college entrance examination poetry does not examine, uninterested students’learning of poetry; not pay enough attention to teachers on the poetry, because of the lack of literacy of their own poetry accumulation and appreciation theory, tendency to explanation on poetry themes and content can only stay in the surface level, teaching methods modeled poetry class is dead; teaching materials, the choice has yet to be discussing poetry texts, selected articles from the era, too old, classic enough, at the same time, the contents less, especially in high school textbooks. Of poetry to teach traditional heritage is facing a huge challenge. Poetry from the literary quality, aesthetic experience, and humane care has an important educational value, so to promote the secondary language poetry teaching, it is imperative.In this paper, the overall design of the guiding ideology, the basic idea of the new curriculum are to promote an overall improvement in students’language literacy to analyze the text characteristics of the existing secondary school in language New and Selected Poems, the overall design of the six-year high school poetry teaching and mastering, andformulated a different school year, grade goals, in order to better grasp the language literacy to be achieved by the students at different stages. According to the characteristics of the substance of the poem style, from the creation of the situation, to strengthen reading, the use of analogy and contrast, the highest four aspects of writing poetry to explore the poetry teaching strategies to provide theoretical support for secondary school poetry teaching.
