| Undergraduate education is an important part of higher education, its commitment toeducating people, and the sacred mission of teaching talent. It’s the most important to cultivatepeople in undergraduation, while we should also teach talent. However, it lost itself when peopleare in earnest of undergraduate education. Number of related issues within the universitywitnesses the emergence of the loss of undergraduate education. They are in the idea ofuniversity has gone wrong, the performance of university teachers to ignore the quality ofteaching; students have lost the values of undergraduate education, learning useless deals instantsuccess. If these problems are not solved effectively, educating people and teaching talent will betwo-phase error. To solve these problems, we believe that undergraduate education should returnto mental cultivation, which includes educating people and teaching talent.By combing the literature, we give a definition of mental cultivation, in the second part, weclarify the theoretical basis in three aspects for mental cultivation:1, mental cultivation of thephilosophy for people, which requires complete mental cultivation and concerns of people’smental cultivation;2, mental cultivation of the comprehensive development, which requires thecoordinate mental cultivation and the individual mental cultivation;3, a variety of social requestof mental cultivation, it requires attention to the role of social human mental cultivation and therole of individual human mental cultivation. In the third section, we summarize mental lostperformance, such as losing the values of undergraduate education, thinking it’s useless toreceive undergraduate education, learning for quick success. And then launching a cause analysison students mental lost, respectively: the false educational idea university positions, universityteachers ignores students mental cultivation, college students irrational factors expands and thesocial impetuous wind influences.By the literature methord, in the fourth part, we give the necessity to return to cultivate themental as five aspects as follows: it’s inherent requirements to cultivate the mental at collegeeducation;the comprehensive development mental cultivation is of the requirements of educationquality; cultivating human mental is of general education requirements; a variety of socialrequiremnts mental cultivation can guarantee the higher education requirements; the mentalcultivation is the "recipe" to avoid quick success deeds.In the final part, we are from universities, university teachers and students to clarify a pointof the three effective ways to cultivate the mental. The university should establish cleareducational goals, create a good atmosphere throughout the campus culture to cultivate humanmental, protect the students freedom to learn to develop the comprehensive development mentalcultivation; the university teachers should be concerned about the teaching methods and concernfor students in extra-curricular life throughout the cultivation of people’s mental; the University undergraduate students should practice multi-dimensional learning throughout thecomprehensive development mental cultivation. |
