Cultivation Of Employment Competitiveness For Students Major In Primary Education

The major of primary Education is a newly-emerged major in the system of higher education. Influenced by the traditional system of teacher training and the mode of personnel training, students in this major are in a disadvantaged position in the employment environment which features fierce competition. As a result, students in this major have to improve their competitiveness in order to win a favorable position in the job market.The research takes the H University as the target of case study and adopts various research methods such as document study, questionnaire, and individual interview. On the basis of the scientific study of the current condition of the cultivation of the job competitiveness of the primary education in H University, through the interviews with people in the university administration organization and college administration organization, leaders in the local education bureau, principal of primary school and students major in primary education, after the in depth analysis of the questionnaire about the employment intentions of the student major in primary education, the causes of the problem have been found and the practical solutions have been raised.Research has found that there are many problems of the cultivating of the competitiveness of students in this major in the perspective of cultivating objectives, curriculum, teaching and after-class activities. The author concludes the cause of the problems mentioned above as follows:insufficient knowledge of the competitiveness of this major, delayed response to the changing market due to the inertia type of teaching, insufficient complementation of in-class and after-class activities and so on. Based on the in-depth analysis of the causes of the problems, the author put forward that the competitiveness of students in this major is the synthesis of basic competitiveness, core competitiveness and environmental competitiveness and the author further put forward the solution to improve the competitiveness of students in this major. For example, increase the research about the job competitiveness, strengthen the links with the job market, and establish the mechanism of dynamic reflection of information in the job market, construct and design the after-class activities which embody the curriculum and teaching system on the basis of core competitiveness.
