Education reform brings each teacher opportunities, but higher requirements at the same time. It demands the teachers to change the backward teaching concepts and methods in the traditional teaching. We are exploring new methods which can combine interest and abilities with history teaching. Undoubtedly, oral history opens a new road for us.Oral history is a branch of history. In oral history we use all means including modern science and technology to conduct prepared interviews with the history witnesses, sort out the interview data, and then carry out the research. Oral history is both an old and young subject, it is widely used in history study. Oral history closely relates to students’actual life and can be complemented into the study of contemporary history. Thus, if oral history can be brought into history teaching, it will be a useful supplement to classroom teaching, and the students’many aspects of abilities can be improved.By means of survey research method, and according to the basic method and requirement of oral history, this article attempts to investigate how to apply oral history into history teaching from the requirements and the characteristics of history curriculum reform. It can enrich history teaching methods; provide the teachers with teaching aids, which has practical significance on new curriculum reform.The essay contains three parts:Part one:The emergency and development of oral history, its present situation in domestic and foreign history teaching research and the practical significance of the research.Part two:The theoretical basis and feasibility of oral history in history teaching of senior high school. The main theoretical bases are the theory of constructivism and humanistic learning theory. Oral history can be combined with senior high school history teaching from different dimensions. The information of oral history is a good supplement for history classroom teaching. The history of the experience within the history classroom can construct a new form of teaching organization. Under the new curriculum reform, oral history practice is an effective history teaching mode.Part three:Analysis on the general principles of oral history practice and the selection requirements of oral history teaching materials. Lead the students to practice oral history and point out the problems. Put forward a constructive suggestion for the future of oral history in history teaching.
