| When students’ learning maths in middle school, they must be able to understand the class. But that is not enough. Students must be capable of flexible application of mathematics, and be able to solve mathematical topics. However, being acquainted with something is something while being capable is another; and the former does not mean the latter at all. It is very important for research of the "Acquaintance Without Capability" phenomenon, and find some ways to solve the problems. This research, carried out chiefly by referring to documents, surveying information, analyzing facts, and based on some conclusions drawn by both questioning students and interviewing some teachers and students, tries to find out the causes of the "acquaintance without capability" phenomenon while learning maths in middle school, and suggests that in order to minimize the consequence and to improve the students’efficiency in learning maths in middle school, the following two strategies should be carried out not only by teachers but by students:teachers should give lessons more properly and make his/her classes more practical, while students should be more active in learning and practice applying proper knowledge to a certain task, thus gaining the capability efficiently. It is to help us face the phenomenon squarely, minimize the consequences of the phenomenon after all and it has a positive significance in theory. |
