A Study On The Diffusion Of Chinese Wushu In Confucius Institutes In Indonesia

With the constant international popularity of Chinese language in recent years, more and more countries have con-established Confucius Institutes with Chinese government. The establishment of overseas Confucius Institutes not only facilitates the cultural exchanges between China and other countries, but also plays a positive role to develop friendly Sino-foreign relations as well as to promote the development of multiple cultures in the world. As we know, Confucius Institutes serve as the significant carriers upon the dissemination of Chinese language and Chinese Culture. As the quintessence and one of the essential parts of Chinese culture, Chinese Wushu, which has profound cultural foundation and the value of diffusion, is considered as the prominent symbol of Chinese Culture on the world scene. Thus, research concerning the diffusion of Chinese Wushu in overseas Confucius Institutes is of great practical significance.On the basis of the5W Mode of Lasswell, this dissertation seeks to give a study on the diffusion of Chinese Wushu in Confucius Institutes in Indonesia with the application of documentary information, questionnaire, mathematical statistics and logical reasoning. First, the paper discusses the contents and the cultural connotations of Chinese Wushu, and analyses the cultural contents (such as Chinese harmonious culture, ethic culture, spiritual culture, etc.) of Chinese Wushu that are diffused in Confucius Institutes. Second, based on the teaching experiences of myself in Confucius Institute in University of Al Azhar Indonesia, this paper analyses the elements concerning the dissemination of Chinese Wushu in this Confucius Institute. Third, suggestions and measures are presented to solve the problems that exist in the diffusion of Chinese Wushu in Confucius Institutes in Indonesia and hopefully, to serve as an illumination in the process of its further diffusion and development.
