Since the adjustment of Chinese policy towards rural school, rural boardingschools have been booming at rapid pace. And studies on rural boarding school havegradually become an important topic in educational area. However, the related studieson rural boarding students are relatively weak, especially their after-school life. With thestrengthening of educational reform, the educational philosophy of "student oriented"has deepened in everyone’s mind. Enriching after-school life of rural students, makingfull use of it and promoting their overall development are very meaningful and useful.This paper mainly adopts literature method and survey method. Its object is ruralboarding middle school student in Heilongjiang Province. Analysis is made aboutcurrent situations of their after-school life and some policies related are made, whichaims to bring some help to promote the development of boarding school and theimprovement of student’s after-school life. This paper mainly consists of the followingparts:The first part: Firstly, an introduction is made about survey background and thepurpose of survey is put forward here. Secondly, by the means of literature survey,materials on after-school life home and abroad are classified and organized. What’smore, some related concepts about the theme of survey are defined. Lastly, the processof survey method is simply described.The second part: Firstly, by the means of questionnaire survey method, actualsurvey is made about rural boarding school students and teachers in HeilongjiangProvince. And their true thoughts are also collected. Secondly, questionnaires forstudents and teachers are returned and organized. What’s more, by the means ofSPSS17.0, data analysis about them is made to test reliability and validity of thequestionnaire. Lastly, some questions are raised about misuse of rural boarding schoolstudents’ extra-curriculum time, simpleness of their activities and their fallingphilosophy of education.The third part: deeper analysis is made about some factors that restraindevelopment of rural boarding school students’ extra-curriculum life. And these factors can be classified into three levels: government, school and teacher-student.The fourth part: some related policies and suggestions are put forward aboutexisting problems and restricting factors.
