For a long time, due to the guidance of the college entrance examination,identification has been overemphasized, which causes great pressure on chemistryteaching in senior high school. It has become a universal phenomenon that it isdifficult to give revision lesson of chemistry in the third year of senior high school,and it is even harder as for the third year of the three-star senior high school.According to the present situation, there exist three major chemistry revision models:exercise sea tactics, model that “can’t see the wood for the trees”, and model withspecial miniature subjects. Those three revision models are still being used today forthe chemistry teaching in the three-star WangTing Senior High School in XiangchengDistrict of Suzhou. As a result, despite the outstanding rates of the school’s chemistrygrades increase, its average score drops off. For this reason, it is imperative to searchfor a new teaching method.Based on the situation above, this thesis conducts some researches and practiceon the application of interactive whiteboard in chemistry teaching in the third year ofsenior high school. In the course of research, students are required to completelyparticipate in the class so as to realize the interaction among students or betweenteachers and students, which activate subjectivity of students, change their learningattitude and improve their learning interests. At the same time, based on variousteaching contents, different teaching models are studied: the combination ofinteractive whiteboard and blackboard, the combination of interactive whiteboard andmini labs, the combination of interactive whiteboard and flow chart, and thecombination of interactive whiteboard and mind mapping.This research makes full use of archival research, experimental method,questionnaire method, interview method and analysis method, through which it clearsup the application and development process and research results of interactivewhiteboard in primary and middle school, analyzes the current situation of chemistrylearning in the third year of WangTing Senior High School, selects students inexperimental class to conduct experimental teaching, set questionnaires andinterviews to analyze the experimental process and results, and lastly, it puts forwardthe advantages and existing defects of interactive whiteboard in teaching practice,proposing some feasible suggestions.
