The interactive whiteboard is known to promote the effective classroomteaching interaction, stimulate students’ interest in learning, improve classroomteaching efficiency, change the presentation of teaching contents and effectivelybreak down the barriers between man and machine. The unique advantages providea flexible and broad platform for classroom teaching, which attracts many experts’and teachers’ attention. With the application and popularity of the interactiveelectronic whiteboard in classroom teaching in primary and secondary schools, theadvantages show up particularly in chemistry teaching. If the unique functions andadvantages brought by interactive electronic whiteboard can be combined with highschool chemistry teaching, it will greatly promote the development of chemistryteaching in high school.Starting with the chemistry teaching design theory, this paper analyzes the highschool chemistry teaching objectives and contents. Meanwhile, referring to theconventional process of teaching general knowledge of compounds and combinedwith the functions and characteristics of interactive electronic whiteboard inchemical teaching, this paper also makes a concrete analysis of compoundknowledge teaching process in high school chemistry class with the assistance ofinteractive electronic whiteboard. This paper focuses on how to use the interactiveelectronic whiteboard to teach the knowledge of compounds in high schoolchemistry class.Taking the class ‘Organic compounds in the food-ethanol’ in the high schoolchemistry textbook by Jiangsu Education Press for example, the writer has donesome teaching practice using interactive electronic whiteboard. This paper is involvedin ‘why’ and ‘how’ to use the interactive whiteboard to serve the teaching in thechemistry teaching practice.Research shows that, the instructional design process of ethanol assisted byinteractive electronic whiteboard changes and updates the teaching methods, thusimproving the students’ interest in learning chemistry and stimulating the students’ learning motivation. At the same time, the whole teaching design process caneffectively promote students to participate in classroom teaching, help createeffective classroom interaction, and highlight student-centered teaching ideas thatthe new curriculum advocates, effectively improve the teaching efficiency, learningeffect.Of course, there are still some problems and difficulties while carrying out thewhiteboard geometry teaching and process, such as flexibility of the difficulties forboth teachers and students to operate whiteboard,all above needs to be solved infurther research.Do hope to collect more data in the following teaching practice to verify its goodeffects on Chemistry teaching.
