| Practice teaching is an important element in the process of undergraduate teaching in university, and it plays an important role that cannot be replaced by any other teaching form in the cultivation of students’innovative consciousness and ability, the improvement of students’ practice ability and comprehensive quality, and the enhancement of students’employment ability. In recent years, practice teaching position in university has been an unprecedented and steady increase, as drawing more and more attention from all social sectors, which impels how to protect the quality of practice teaching to become more concerned. In addition, as Chinese higher education varying from elite education to mass education gradually, the contradiction between the rapid development of the university scale and how to ensure teaching quality has become more and more visible, and traditional management mode of practice teaching has been unable to adapt to the current development situation. Faced with the public attention, it’s immediacy to use of a scientific and effective management mode to replace the traditional one, in order to ensure the quality of practice teaching. Having been tested by practice for years, total quality management can be successfully introduced into the field of higher education. Its introduction is beneficial to the change of traditional management concept, bringing the innovation of practice teaching management and improving the teaching quality and management level continuously.The main research method of the paper is literature research method, comparative analysis method and case-study method. First, the research situation of the total quality management of practice teaching in higher education organizations is summarized by arrangement and deep analysis, after collecting massive literature on research of total quality management and practice teaching quality management of higher education. Second, the status and deficiency of practice teaching in traditional management mode are summarized by comparative analysis method. Finally, the case-study method further explains that the introduction of total quality management mode to universities’practice teaching management is not only feasible, but also successful, and the expected aim can be reached.According to the studies, the conclusions are as follows:First, total quality management which was first used in western industrial and commercial world has a strong adaptability and mobility and it can be introduced into the management of practice teaching of domestic universities. But, we shouldn’t adopt the existing achievements indiscriminately and should select the essence and discard the dross according to concrete conditions and construct total quality management mode fitting our conditions. Second, as domestic universities introducing total quality management in practice teaching management, the total quality management concept must be solved and the basic principles must be followed when constructing total quality management mode of practice teaching management, focusing on customers, forming the concept of quality, enhancing the quality consciousness, full participation and according to PDCA cycle. Third, total quality management mode’s replacing traditional practice teaching management mode is beneficial to update traditional management concept and improve quality and management level of practice teaching. Gradual reformation should be adopted when implementing total quality management. There are many links of practice teaching, one link in one specialty can firstly be the pilot and after its successful implementation of the total quality management, the other practice teaching links of the specialty can be brought along and then expanded to other specialties, and the whole campus and even a wider range. This kind of gradual reformation is beneficial to bring great success of application of total quality management in practice teaching management. |
