This study does research in tourism professional students’professional identity based on the theory of professional identity. Itis of brand-new meaning to combine vocational education and professionalidentity. This study helps to promote the students’ loyalty to theindustry, occupation and organization and reduce the "potential loss",and at the same time enhance the scientificalness and availability ofvocational education.Interviewing method, questionnaire method, documentary analysis areapplied in this study.12students were interviewed and276students weretaken a questionnaire survey. Through these materials, the author getsthe conclusions:(1) dimensions of tourism students professional identity include selfidentity, relationship identity, organizational identity, referencegroup identification, behavior model and behavior tendency;(2)individualability, internship experience and industry system influenceprofessional identity; there is no relation between tourism professionalidentity and learning time; there is a differentiation among tourismindustry organization identity; professional identity do not completelydecide the behavior attitude;(3)self identity is the main reason for theindividual to decide whether he would long engaged in the professional; organization and reference identity is the reason for the individual todecided to give up the profession or not; self and organization identityis the reason for the members to show group behavior; relations identityand professional identity have little relationship;(4) the developmentof professional identity is a dimension of the development of professionalability. we should seek for the combining point of vocational educationand professional identity;(5) strengthen the career planning educationand improve practice system and practice management are effective waysto combine tourism professional education and professional identity.The innovation point is to put forward the research of professionalidentity from the perspective of tourism professional students for thefirst time. It is the enrichment and development of vocational educationtheory and a reference for identity study in different career fields aswell.
