The case studyobject of this paper is Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai. Through the application ofdocumentary method, interviews and so forth, it discusses about the interior structuralfactors of independent colleges. Based on that, a questionnaire about faculty jobsatisfaction at independent colleges was conducted and put into investigation. By theanalysis to the questionnaire, we get a real picture to the faculty job satisfaction atindependent colleges. The conclusions are as follows:(1) Faculty job satisfaction at independent colleges mainly consists of sixdimensions, namely working environment, salary and treatment, leadership andmanagement, professional positioning, further studies and improvement, interpersonalrelationship.(2) Faculty at independent college doesn’t have high job satisfaction level.(3) In different contexts, job satisfaction of female faculty is higher than malefaculty as a whole. Job satisfaction of young faculty and older faculty is significantlyhigher than middle-aged faculty. Job satisfaction is directly related to professionaltitle and educational background. Job satisfaction of new-recruited faculty and thosewho has been working for more than5years is comparably higher as a whole. Jobsatisfaction of teaching staff and researcher is higher than administrative staff andteaching aids staff. Job satisfaction of permanent faculty is slightly lower thanpart-time faculty. This paper deems that: there are four problems regarding unsatisfying faculty jobsatisfaction, namely unsatisfying salary, unscientific leadership and management, thelack of institutional guarantee for further study as well as promotion, high workingpressure. Factors influencing faculty job satisfaction are the lack of managementsystem, ignorance of health factors, ineffective incentive measures and lack of goodorganizational atmosphere. Measures to deal with that would be to optimize facultystructure, improve health factors, perfect institutional construction and improveself-regulation.
